According to studies conducted by the University of the Aegean, regarding the biogeochemical characteristics of surface sea waters. It was found that the surface waters of the North Aegean and especially of the Athos region have very good quality and are characterized by high concentrations of dissolved oxygen with relatively low concentrations of nutrients (phosphates, nitrates, nitrites and ammonia). This is due to the fact that:
1) There is a long distance from river estuaries and coastal urban industrial centers. As a result, the biochemistry of the surface layer is controlled only by that related to the present sea masses and their circulation.
2) The present surface sea mass in the N. Aegean is related to the inflows of Black Sea water from the Dardanelles Straits, characterized by low salinity and temperature, low concentrations of total organic carbon (TOC).
This results in the surface waters of the Athos region being characterized by nutrient and chlorophyll concentrations much lower (in most cases by 1-2 orders of magnitude) than those of the N. Adriatic, the Balearic Sea and the wider English Channel).

The sea water used for Athomer products is pumped at a distance of 5 miles from the beach and 10 meters deep, in order to pump high quality sea water, with all the nutrients and trace elements of the sea.
The Benefits of Propolis and Mint & Eucalyptus
Propolis is generally known as “bee glue”, which is a general name referring to the resinous substance accumulated by bees from different types of plants. The word “propolis” comes from the Greek for defense for “for” and city or community for “polis”, or hive, in other words. It is a natural, rich and strong raw material that bees produce in order to seal and protect their hive from atmospheric agents. They are extremely rich in flavonoids.Propolis is a mixture of resinous substances, which bees collect from trees and process. The elements that have been mainly recognized and studied are: terpenes, polysaccharides, acids and aromatic formaldehyde, as well as vitamins A, B, C and E.
However, the most interesting part is that of polyphenols.
Propolis and its extracts have many applications in the treatment of various diseases due to its antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, antifungal, antifungal and immunomodulatory properties.
The name mint comes from the Latin word mentha, which in turn comes from the Greek word minthi. In ancient times Mint was a mountain of Triphylia and a nymph of Hades and the plant was dedicated to Hades.
The aromatic plant comes from the East.
Inhaling diffused peppermint essential oil can help decongest the nose and provide relief to a sore throat by opening the airways, and it is considered one of the best essential oils for colds, flu, coughs, sinusitis, asthma, bronchitis and other respiratory ailments.
Eucalyptus comes from a large genus with more than 700 different species, most of which are found in Australia and New Zealand, although some of the more widespread species can be found throughout Southeast Asia. All species have leaves covered in oil glands, from which most of the health benefits come.
Eucalyptus leaves and oil have been used for generations as a remedy for respiratory problems, especially in clearing runny noses from the respiratory tract. The active ingredients present in the leaves act as expectorants, helping to remove excess phlegm and mucus from the sinuses and respiratory tracts, eliminating the natural environment for the proliferation and spread of bacteria and other pathogens.

All products of the ATHOMER line are produced according to Good Practice Rules (GMP).
The selection of raw materials is based on strict criteria. The sea area of Mount Athos was chosen because of the high quality of the sea water that exists in the Area.
The company meets the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 – ISO 13485:2016 system.
All products of the ATHOMER series are sterilized by radiation – γ according to the EN ISO 11137 standard (Sterilization of Products – Sterilization Process).
They are also Certified with the CE mark by the Notified Body, in accordance with directive 93/42/EEC. The products belong to Category IIa medical devices.
BOV Technology
BOV technology separates the propellants (compressed air) used to promote the product from the flexible plastic bags, which are filled with the contents of the finished product. The bags of contents are placed in aluminum bottles and the compressed air fills the space between the bottle and the bag.
Finally, the BOV technology helps the air to push the content out, with the help of the sprayer.

Safe Packaging
ATHOMER packaging do not work with propellant gases and this makes them safe both during its use and during its maintenance. They are made in such a way that the user can take full advantage of all the indications of the manufacturer. The packaging of the products is designed so that the characteristics and performance of the products do not change during storage and transportation. The products are made from materials that are recyclable, non-toxic and non-flammable. Therefore, the use, storage, transport and disposal can be done with absolute safety and without any risk of environmental pollution.
Clinically Proven Product
In clinical studies conducted on over 300 patients in ENT clinics in Athens and Thessaloniki. They showed that the isotonic and hypertonic Athomer products as well as products with propolis and eucalyptus mint extract. They worked correctly and effectively on patients suffering from chronic symptoms such as nasal dryness, difficulty breathing, sinusitis and allergic rhinitis. As a result, 82% of patients respond very satisfactorily after using Athomer products. Improving in about a period of 2 weeks, significantly the nasal breathing and air flow, also noting an improvement in their quality of life.
